Chleo Li (alias LAPIS) is a London-based sound artist, designer, and philosopher whose work moves between experimental practice and applied design. She explores how sound can reflect the fragmented, fluid nature of experience, drawing on themes of memory, migration, archetypes, and spirituality.
Working with modular synthesis, field recording, sampling, and sonic manipulation, she creates textures and environments that trace psychological and emotional shifts. She often extends these explorations into moving image, photography, and writing, opening sound into wider cultural and narrative contexts.
Her collaborations span VR/AR, 3D animation, games, Web, short film, contemporary dance, installations, audiovisual performance, sonic branding, and fashion runways. Across these diverse settings, she approaches sound as both a material to be sculpted and a way of shaping perception, creating experiences that move between the intimate and the immersive.
